2 Day Workshop

Location: The Galleries at Heartland Art Club 101A West Argonne Kirkwood, Missouri 63122The versatility of soft pastels is unlimited! Pastels can take us on whatever journey we choose. What if your journey is to paint more expressively? How do we make the leap?
During this 2-day workshop, you will learn how working on a textured surface paper or board can help you create a painting with dimension, texture, and drama. And while the highly textured surface encourages looser and more expressive mark-making, it also provides the impression of details without having to labor over them.
You will learn about a variety of mediums that can be used to create a textured surface/ground. You will learn how to incorporate an underpainting on the textured surface and create pastel paintings that are engaging and expressive.
