Committee Overview

Each committee plays a vital role in bringing our mission to life, from organizing events to managing our gallery and supporting educational programs. Membership Committee

  • Member management (Airtable knowledge very helpful)
  • Manage membership renewal, re-engagement
  • Acquire new members
  • Coordinate and communicate member opportunities, activities, appreciation
  • Increase member participation
  • Improve and increase member benefits
  • Provide Communications Committee with news about member successes, awards, and special contributions
    Organize artist-member interviews to be shared by Communications Committee
  • Address member feedback and requests
  • Respond to membership questions or issues

Gallery Committee

  • Gallery staffing
  • Artwork acquisition
  • Artwork intake and unpacking for shows and exhibits
  • Artwork return or re-packing after shows and exhibits
  • Hang artwork for display and rotate regularly
  • Maintaining gallery cleanliness, updates, and repairs
  • Cleaning gallery prior to shows, exhibits, workshops and classes
  • Work with Events Committee on event ideas and themes, private events, shows, and exhibits including food service, drinks, entertainment

Education

  • Plan workshops, classes, lectures, and presentations
  • Manage Visiting Artist program to secondary schools and colleges
  • Acquire outstanding workshop teachers
  • Select teachers for classes
  • Set-up/clean-up and assist with workshops, classes, lectures, and presentations
  • Work with grant writers for educational funding
  • Acquire sponsors for educational needs

Finance

  • Manage and maintain the Club’s finances with Quickbooks/Airtable/Bank
  • Financial planning
  • Donor acquisition
  • Bank liaison
  • Update board on financial status, needs, issues

Video/Photo/Design Communications

Videographers

  • Record artist interviews, demonstrations, and events using mobile phone video devices (iPhone preferred)
  • Record short videos or create live feed for social media

Video Editors

  • Create small can catchy video posts for social media
  • Follow editing instructions to create full-length artist interviews and demos (iMovie preferred)

Photographers

  • Photograph events, classes, workshops

Designers

  • Edit and correct photos for use on website, social media, newsletter, and blog
  • Create graphic posts for website, social media, newsletter, and blog

Communications

  • Copywriting and content for website
  • Copywriting and content for newsletter
  • Copywriting and content for social media
  • Design, update and edit website using Squarespace
  • Design and post social media posts
  • Assemble and schedule newsletter
  • Format content for blog posts
  • Manage website content for online shows and exhibits
  • Airtable integration with website
  • Manage membership, workshop, class, and product sales on website (Stripe knowledge helpful)

Events

  • Plan member events (with Gallery Committee)
  • Plan shows and exhibits (with Gallery Committee)
  • Manage special event use of gallery
  • Plan future gallery retail shop
  • Plan food and drinks for receptions and events
  • Coordinate volunteers for exhibits (set-up tables, linens, food and drink stations, and clean-up)
  • Acquire sponsors for events to offset costs

General

  • Apply to join the board
  • Join the Steering Committee
  • Sponsor a Gallery Room under your business name
  • Help with Gallery updates, maintenance, and repairs
