Are you planning to enroll in AP Art & Design for the upcoming academic year? Look no further – our AP Art & Design Summer Prep Workshop is tailored just for you! Join instructors Mary Drastal and Stacey McAdams as they guide you in gaining a head start for your fall class. Delve deeply into the Foundations of Art & Design, exploring elements, principles, composition, color, and contrast, with a focus on their relevance to the upcoming AP Art & Design Portfolio.

Throughout the workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to experiment with various 2-D techniques and mediums under the guidance of both your teachers and visiting artists. Familiarize yourself with the concept of a Sustained Investigation and understand its direct connection to your AP Art & Design studies, with a special emphasis on learning ideation and synthesis.

To facilitate your participation, each student will receive a supply kit for the class. To fully benefit from the workshop, it is recommended that students dedicate a minimum of 3 hours outside of the scheduled workshop hours. This practice mirrors the expectations for your future AP Art & Design class.

Prepare to embark on a creative journey and equip yourself with the skills and knowledge needed for a successful experience in AP Art & Design. We look forward to seeing you at the workshop!

Visiting Artists: Michael Anderson, Carol Carter, Emma Coen and Jo Jasper Dean.

Notes: Transportation to the workshop is the responsibility of the student. With the busy summer season, a student may miss one day of the workshop without penalty. A student missing more than one day of the workshop forfeits their spot and will be removed from the workshop.
