This exhibition will feature the exceptional work of a select group of talented printmakers who specialize in a variety of printmaking processes. From traditional techniques such as woodcut and etching to modern methods like screen printing, the diversity in styles and approaches is sure to make this invitational a must-see for both art lovers and art makers alike. On view through June 1. Gallery hours are Wednesday thru Saturday, noon to 5pm.

Shawn Cornell Retro Opening Reception
Evolving Door – One Thing Leads to Another
From graphic design, to painting, to pottery, to print, to found object construction, Shawn Cornell has walked through many doors, trying on many creative hats of evolving interests. From September 4 through October 4, this retrospective show of one thing leading to another will be on display at the Galleries of Heartland Art Club. Join us at the opening reception is Friday, September 6 from 6-8. Shawn will also be giving a talk about his artistic journey on Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 1-3pm.
Pastel Painting Workshop with Carol Strock Wasson
The focus of this two-day workshop is for artists of all skill levels to explore the versatility of the pastel medium using different tools and materials, such as brayers, sticks, razors, clear gesso, acrylics, and inks, as under and over painting layers. Carol will also be teaching the importance of using composition structures, value, and color harmony in your paintings.

Workshop: Thinking More Before Painting More with M. Shawn Cornell
This all outdoor, two-day plein air workshop will touch on many things, including:
• TM-PM - Focusing on Thinking More before Painting More
• Explore increasing the creativity of your painting through the concept of “Elevate the Imagination”
• Tips and Tricks in dealing with painting outside in Mother Nature’s ever changing conditions
• The fine art of talking to yourself and constantly asking yourself questions: What is the purpose of this painting? What is it that I want my audience to see? What would make a more interesting composition? What if...? and so on.
SOAR Retreat at the Ozark Retreat Center (3 days)
Located in the heart of the Southern Missouri Ozarks, The Ozark Retreat Center at Ananda Kanan ("The Garden of Bliss") is a beautiful and well-equipped facility for personal retreats as well as workshops and group retreats. Mentorships with plein air artists available including:

The Ins & Outs of Painting Plein Air in Watercolor with Lee Copen
This two-day workshop will teach you what you need to know to become a competent watercolor sketch artist or create more finished watercolor paintings. I will discuss the equipment and materials you need to make your outdoor painting experiences successful.
I will also discuss choosing the right scene, editing and simplifying what you see and the importance of good drawing. I will demonstrate how to capture the effects of light and shadow, with controlled values and beautiful color.
Beautiful Color in Landscapes with Farley Lewis
This 3 day acrylic and oil painting workshop is designed to help you understand color and how to mix and use it effectively. Learn simple keys to keep your colors working well together, the power of grays, color temperature, painting shadows and light, what makes colors “glow” and much more.
Each day begins with an instruction time and demo, then participants work on their own painting with plenty of one-on-one instruction and encouragement.
