Dear Members,

The past summer and fall season brought many outstanding program events and exhibits to Heartland Art Club. We hosted wonderful workshops by Phil Starke, Patrick Saunders, and others, exhibited artwork by members during the Members’ Showcase, and we celebrated “91 Years of Art”, a retrospective of work by Art Stauder, age 91. Art shared many of his plein air paintings and preliminary sketches in his show, and he gave an informative and funny talk at the Gallery that illuminated his artistic pursuits for attendees.

Additionally, we hosted our annual fundraiser, “Ticket to Pick It”, which was a huge success! Artists donated 106 works, and tickets sold out, helping us to exceed our fundraising goal for the event this year. We are so grateful to all the artists who donated artwork—without all of that hard work and generosity, this fundraiser would not be possible. As a thank you, we gifted each donating artist a high-quality sketchbook. We are also extremely grateful to our ticket purchasers, whose contributions to the club will allow us to continue exceptional programming next year.

We are very excited about our schedule for 2022! Among other upcoming activities, we will have a Signature Membership drive in the first half of the year, and a national selection of jurors will be assisting us with the process. We will also be embarking on a National Juried Exhibition and will host several solo artist shows during 2022. In addition, our annual membership exhibition will coincide with a show for Signature status members.

Our lineup of workshops, classes, and presentation events for artists in 2022 is excellent, and will cover a variety of artistic media and subject areas. We are looking forward to sharing knowledge and learning alongside you!

As a reminder, Heartland Art Club memberships run for the calendar year (January 1 – December 31), so remember to renew in January! If you have ideas for events, shows, learning opportunities, or other ways we can support our artists and community, please reach out to us. As always, we strive to focus our offerings and events on your artistic needs. We are delighted to have you on board!
